A Blending of Tradition and Technology

in Modern Publishing

This publication has undergone a meticulous archiving and cataloging process. This book is one of the “35 Selected Acquisitions from 1913.” Here’s what the German National Library wrote about it:

"The media world is constantly evolving, presenting publishers with new challenges. Published by Phobos Verlag Düsseldorf, The Nutcracker and the Mouse King exemplifies modern publishing by combining printed and digital formats. The printed portion includes text and illustrations in a unique white-on-white print with neon white, which visually stands out under black light. At the start of each section, a QR code provides mobile access to the corresponding chapter of a more detailed virtual audiobook. This intriguing fusion of a traditional printed book with a digital audiobook has been added to the collections at both German National Library locations in Leipzig (signature 2022 A 18316) and Frankfurt am Main (signature 2021 A 22355).
