2024 // Three different classes taught by Professor Laskowski in Spring '24 worked on an interdisciplinary wall art installation, showcasing the power of combining various forms of expression in spatial communication design.

Students used Paul Rand's book "Thoughts on Design," one of the pioneering and essential textbooks on design theory, as an inspiration source and created themes through various mediums under Professor Laskowski's guidance and supervision.

Students in the 2D animation class selected statements from the textbook and created motion graphic video sequences based on these statements. Students in the Graphic Design and Creativity and Design classes also selected statements from the textbook and created poster designs based on statements.

The process of creating the posters in these classes was based on digital and experimental classic print design approaches, such as plotting and stenciling.

Although each work was created in different media, all works coexist and extend each other both content-wise and visually to form an aesthetically pleasing, cohesive wall design for the audience. The posters were printed both manually and digitally on special materials, and the videos are displayed on a TV.

In addition to guiding individual poster and animation projects from the sketch to the final execution, Professor Laskowski orchestrated the integration of diverse works into a unified design inspired by the book, showcasing their collective vision at the conclusion of the semester.
